My first (ever!) book review! I'm grateful to The Mad Poets Society, a local non-profit organization, for supporting my work. I have participated in two of their readings in the past, and they graciously agreed to preview my new chapbook.

I love these lines from reviewer Abbey J. Porter:

My forthcoming chapbook, Mid-Bloom, is now available for pre-order through Finishing Line Press. Place your orders online by mid-June and your copy will be mailed as soon as the book is released on August 13, 2021.

For authors publishing work through small presses, pre-orders are extremely important. The number of orders placed during this time will determine the size of my print run (aka how many copies total are printed to be sold) AND the number of pre-orders will impact the royalty percentage I receive for the life of the book. So by placing an order now, you are not only supporting me by buying the work, but by ensuring I am compensated at a higher rate in the future!
Mid-Bloom is a collection of poems exploring the loss of my mother to cancer when I was just 15 years old and my own experience with breast cancer at the age of 36. Losing my mom at such a young age has long been an inspiration for my writing, not to mention something that has shaped my identity for years. But going through chemotherapy, I felt a bond with her that I never expected, a new understanding of what she must have felt so many years ago. Her absence became palpable all over again.

I'm looking forward to sharing these poems with the world, and I appreciate your support. Place your order with Finishing Line Press now!

I've been teasing some big news for awhile, and now that I've signed the contract I'm finally ready to share. My newest chapbook of poems, titled Mid-Bloom, has been accepted for publication by Finishing Line Press!

This collection of poems centers around the loss of my mother to cancer when I was just 15, and my own experience with cancer at age 36. In these poems, I explore themes of childhood, family, illness, survivorship, and the ways in which my cancer brought me closer to my mother even though she's not here.

The cover design is not yet complete, but I am thrilled to be able to use the artwork pictured here--ink and watercolor by the talented Linnea Broling.

Anticipated publication should be later in 2021, but of course, these things change. As soon as pre-orders are open, I will share the details!
